Jess Wirkkala

Client Support Manager | Optimum Benefits vs Optimum Financial

I joined the Optimum Financial team in 2005, bringing with me a strong foundation in sales, marketing, and customer service. With more than 21 years of experience, I’ve built a career around supporting clients with the care, attention, and responsiveness they deserve.

As a Client Support Manager, I serve as a key resource for our clients throughout every stage of their financial planning journey. Whether before, during or after plan implementation, I’m here to ensure the administrative side of the process runs smoothly. I act as a liaison between our clients and our strategic partners, vendors, and service providers—researching answers, and following through on every detail. I also manage many of the communications and daily operations that keep our office running efficiently.

I’ve always believed that great service comes from going the extra mile, and I’m committed to making sure our clients feel supported, valued, and well taken care of.

I live in southern New Hampshire with my husband and our two children, and we enjoy exploring all of the outdoor activities and adventures our community and state have to offer.

Duane Goodell

Senior Advisor, Financial Strategies and Solutions

For nearly three decades, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals and families build secure, well‑planned financial futures. When I founded Optimum Wealth LLC, it was with a simple and meaningful mission: to provide thoughtful, ethical, and effective financial guidance that allows clients to live their lives with dignity, confidence, and peace of mind.

I’ve always believed that life is a continual learning process. That belief shapes the way I approach both my personal growth and my professional work. I’m committed to staying current in an ever‑evolving industry—expanding my knowledge, deepening my experience, and bringing forward the most informed strategies possible for the people I serve.

My background includes degrees in Business Management and Financial Management from Franklin Pierce University, along with the LUTCF designation, and years as both an Independent Investment Advisor Representative and an Independent Insurance Broker. Over my career, I’ve been honored with multiple Five Star Professional Awards thru 2025 and have had recognition as America’s Select Financial Advisor for New Hampshire—acknowledgments that reflect my dedication to high ethical standards and exceptional client service.

Outside the office, I’m grateful to call southwestern New Hampshire home, where I live with my family. Community involvement is important to me, and I’m proud to be a member of the Chesterfield Lions Club. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll often find me outdoors—camping, hiking, and enjoying nature with my family.

Above all, my work is about relationships. Every client’s story matters, and I consider it a privilege to help people navigate their financial paths with clarity and purpose.

What do you actually do?

I help people 50+ turn savings into a dependable plan—organized income, thoughtful tax strategy, right-sized risk, and investments built to last.

How is your approach different?

We believe a well-organized team outperforms a solo generalist. I manage the investments, and a partnered CFP® team architects the plan—two specialties working in sync. The goal: a plan you understand and can stick with—through good markets and bad.

What’s it like to work with you?

Calm and organized. We simplify accounts, align beneficiaries, and focus on what we can control: allocation, taxes, costs, and staying invested through market ups and downs.

Where are you based?

Alton & Bethalto, serving clients across Illinois and Missouri.

Lori Klein

Founder

Hello, I’m Lori Klein of the Klein Legacy Group.

I spent the majority of my career as a paralegal and worked with some of the finest law firms and attorneys in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  But, at the end of 2017, I was suddenly unemployed, and after two years of applying to hundreds of jobs without success, I decided to change the course of my future. So, I took the state insurance producer exam and created the Klein Legacy Group.

Throughout my life and 28 year career I have noticed a common theme among people. Very few individuals, and particularly women, have adequately planned for their financial future while some haven’t planned at all. I also found that many individuals do not have an estate plan. Whatever the reasons for not planning, it’s time to consider a few things. What would happen if you unexpectedly lost your job? What if you are faced with a divorce situation? What if your spouse or life partner passes? What would happen if you or a loved one is diagnosed with a critical or terminal illness? Everyone thinks they have plenty of time to plan and save for retirement and/or create an estate plan. The reality is there is never enough time.

I think most would agree, the last several months have brought about a lot of self-awareness and realization.  People are not as prepared as they once thought. Early in my career, I worked for an attorney who used to say, “Planning is highly overrated!” Well, not in this instance.  We all should have a plan in place for the “what if” scenario.  And, there is no better time to plan for the future than the present.

Let me help you remove any fear or apprehension you may have. Taking that first step isn’t always easy but I promise you won’t regret it.  Taking control of your financial future allows you to successfully navigate every stage of your life.  Let’s talk and make a plan, so you can live your best life, at every stage, no matter what life throws your way.
